About The Longevity Lab
What is a longevity clinic?
A longevity clinic focuses on helping individuals improve their healthspan – the number of years they live in good health – through proactive, preventative, and personalized healthcare. While lifespan measures how long you live, healthspan focuses on the quality of those years. Longevity medicine focuses on helping people maintain physical, cognitive, and metabolic health as they age.
At The Longevity Lab, our multidisciplinary team works together to identify health risks early, address modifiable risk factors, and support lifelong health and healthy aging through evidence-informed care. Our goal is to help patients maximize both their lifespan and healthspan so they can enjoy more years of vitality, independence, and optimal health.
How is The Longevity Lab different from traditional healthcare?
Traditional healthcare often focuses on diagnosing and treating illness after symptoms develop. Our approach emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and a broader understanding of the factors that influence health over time. Through collaboration among practitioners from multiple healthcare disciplines, we are able to address health concerns from different perspectives and provide more coordinated, comprehensive care.
What services does The Longevity Lab offer?
The Longevity Lab brings together practitioners from multiple healthcare disciplines under one roof, making it easier for patients to access coordinated care tailored to their individual needs. Depending on your health goals and concerns, your care team may include professionals with expertise in primary care, naturopathic medicine, nursing, nutrition, psychology, osteopathy, acupuncture, massage therapy, and lifestyle-based approaches to health.
Our services may include comprehensive health assessments, diagnostic testing, nutrition counselling, mental health support, pain and musculoskeletal care, preventive health strategies, chronic disease risk reduction, and support for healthy aging. By working collaboratively, our team can provide a more complete understanding of your health and develop recommendations that consider the full picture rather than a single concern.
What is a multidisciplinary healthcare team?
A multidisciplinary healthcare team brings together practitioners from different areas of expertise who work collaboratively to support your health goals. Instead of focusing on individual concerns in isolation, our team takes a comprehensive, whole-person approach that considers the interconnected factors affecting your health, helping you optimize well-being and support long-term health outcomes.
How does a multidisciplinary approach benefit patients?
At The Longevity Lab, practitioners from different healthcare disciplines collaborate to support your health goals. This allows us to consider multiple aspects of your health, coordinate care when appropriate, and develop more comprehensive recommendations. By bringing together different perspectives and areas of expertise, we can create a more personalized approach to supporting your health.
Who We Help & How We Work
What health concerns can a longevity clinic help with?
Patients seek care at The Longevity Lab for a variety of health concerns and goals, including fatigue, metabolic health, digestive issues, hormonal changes, stress, sleep concerns, weight management, and cardiovascular health. We also work with individuals who want to take a proactive approach to healthy aging, reduce their risk of chronic disease, and maintain their physical, mental, and cognitive health over time.
Do I need to be sick to become a patient?
Not at all. Many of our patients come to The Longevity Lab because they want to better understand their health, address potential risk factors, and make informed decisions that support their long-term health. You do not need to have a specific diagnosis or health concern to benefit from our services.
At what age should I start focusing on longevity?
It’s never too early – or too late – to invest in your long-term health. While many people seek longevity care in their 40s, 50s, and beyond, younger adults can benefit from establishing healthy habits and identifying risk factors before they become health concerns.
Can a longevity clinic help prevent chronic disease?
While no clinic can guarantee prevention, many chronic diseases are influenced by factors that can be modified over time. By understanding your individual health profile, risk factors, and habits, our team can help you make informed decisions that support your health as you age.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You can book directly with any of our practitioners. If you have recent medical records, laboratory results, or diagnostic reports, bringing them to your appointment can help us better understand your health history.
What can I expect from my first visit?
Your initial consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know you and gain a deeper understanding of your health. We will discuss your medical history, current concerns, lifestyle habits, and health priorities, as well as review any relevant laboratory results or diagnostic testing. Depending on your needs, additional assessments or testing may be recommended. This information helps our team identify key areas of focus and determine the most appropriate next steps in your care
Do you offer personalized health plans?
Yes. Every patient receives recommendations based on their individual health history, goals, lifestyle, and assessment findings. Our multidisciplinary team develops personalized strategies that may include nutrition, movement, stress management, sleep optimization, medical care, and other supportive therapies.
What testing do you offer?
Depending on your health goals and clinical needs, we have access to a wide range of diagnostic and specialty testing options. These may include laboratory testing, body composition analysis, cardiovascular risk assessments, hormone testing, nutritional evaluations, and other evidence-informed tools to help guide your care. Any recommended testing is personalized to your individual needs and discussed with you before proceeding.
Can I use lab results from another healthcare provider?
In many cases, yes. We encourage patients to bring recent laboratory results, diagnostic imaging, or specialist reports to their appointment. This information can help avoid unnecessary duplication and provide valuable insight into your health history.
How long does it take to see results?
Every patient is unique, and timelines vary depending on individual health goals and circumstances. Some patients notice improvements in energy, sleep, or overall health within a few weeks, while other goals may require several months of consistent lifestyle and treatment changes. We focus on sustainable, long-term improvements rather than quick fixes.
Can I continue seeing my family doctor while receiving care at The Longevity Lab?
Absolutely. Our services are designed to complement – not replace – your existing healthcare providers. We encourage patients to maintain relationships with their family physicians and specialists, and we believe collaborative care often leads to the best outcomes.
