Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture Practitioner

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture practitioners approach symptoms with diagnostic tools to determine the causes of problems, and to address those causes with TCM practices. Treatment makes use of several different modalities such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and tai na. The treatment plan focuses on determining and addressing the root causes of problems by facilitating the body’s ability to heal itself.

Doctors of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine complete a minimum three-year diploma that includes intensive theoretical and practical training as well as extensive clinical experience. In addition to their years of education, they are required to participate in continuing education and quality assurance programs to ensure they maintain their high professional standards and quality of care.

Our TCM and Acupuncture practitioners are registered with a professional Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine association in Alberta (CAAA and/or AAATCMD) and are licensed by the City of Calgary.
